Moving around Gyeongju part 2- Backpacking Korea Trip

On the last day in Gyeongju, I make a promise to meet one of my Korean friend, Aram. Because I have to check out from the hostel, I take my big baggage with me to our meeting place, Gyeongju station. How?? Of course I have to push it by myself for 20 minutes walk. It was so tiring.. Yesterday I said that it is near, only take 10 minutes walk. But if you walk with a big baggage like me, it become double. trust me.. -.-

Fortunately, the big locker still available that morning. Thanks God!! I pay 3000 won for the locker and wait for Aram. The good thing about my guesthouse is I get a free breakfast! So, each person can take 2 slice of bread, one boiled egg, jam butter and coffee or tea. It was a good thing so you don't have to buy something for eat. 

With Aram we go to Gyeongju Teddy Bear Museum!! It costs 9000 won. At first I didn't know that Gyeongju has a teddy bear museum too. As I know, teddy bear museum is in Jeju Island and Namsan tower, Seoul. So I was surprised that Gyeongju has it. When I was come, the first dorama is about dinosaurs ? I don't know what the meaning of this but the story said about the time machine. After that we go to dynasty of Korea with a dorama of many famous attraction in Gyeongju. I found that it was interesting. You learn about history with a cute teddy bear dorama. Who will not see it?? It makes people learn in an interesting way. ^^

For lunch I ask Aram to eat Korean food. So she brought me to some restaurant near the station. We eat many kind of dishes and each of us just have to pay 7000 won. It is so cheap!! Ok, I know that there are more of Korean food that was cheaper. You can grab food in market around 3000-5000 won. But. in this case as you can see in the picture, there are a lot of food and side dish. So, in my opinion, it is cheap. :)

With a full stomach we continuo our journey to Gyeongju National Museum. In this museum we can know more about Gyeongju. And the most interesting part is this museum is FREE!!!

You can learn more about any touristic place and site in here. Aram said that the last time she came here  is when she was in junior high school for school trip. So, it was a good experience for her too. Unfortunately, when I came, there is a renovation in the main hall. So, I can't see everything. :(

After spend time in the museum, we back to Gyeongju Station to buy Hwangnambbang Bread. You can see the picture above. Basically it taste like Bakpia , traditional bread from Yogyakarta. it just different shape. Inside the bread is bean. So it's sweet. SInce I don't know where I have to go, I choose to go to Daegu earlier. With train that cost aroung 5400 won, at 17.00 I go to Daegu city and say goodbye to Aram. Thank you Aram for accompany me that day. You're so kind. ^^

It takes 1 hour and a half from Gyeongju to Daegu. After arrive at Dongdaegu station, I take a subway to my hostel Peterpan Guesthouse Daegu. I reserve this hostel in Agoda.com because I want to get a single room for the next three days. Get out from the subway station, I try to read the map and the direction to my hostel. I am a little bit confused because it was not clear. But, I try to walk around and follow my intuition. After 30 minutes walking with my baggage and it looks like I am getting lost, I am give up. I take a cab and told him to go to Novotel Hotel, because my hostel around there. 

What makes me angry is,, the direction to the hostel is so confusing. I ask people and FINALLY I can found it!! Thanks God!! It located in the rooftop of a building on the 6th floor. And the elevator only until 5th floor. So, I have to lift my big baggage to that place. What a day.. The good thing about this hostel is the people was so kind and friendly. That's why I forgive them. To be honest, I plan to angry to that hostel because the confusing direction to get there, but since they are so kind, I can't angry. :D

And that night I spend my rest of time with eat Jjajangmyun, and chat with people in my hostel. There is a man from France and two Korean Woman. We speak about the touristic place in Gyeongju and I ask them where should I go for the next day. They give me a lot of suggestion. Thanks to them. :) 

It was a tiring day but FUN!!
