It's 23rd of February. And I wake up in Daegu this morning. I can't believe that it's already my third city in Korea. I visited Daegu because my Korea friend live here and I want to meet them. We make appointment to meet at 11 am. So I can wake up late today and don't have to be rush. We meet for lunch, they ask me what I want to eat. Since I can't eat pork, I told them that I want to eat something that have a big portion. I remember in Gyeongju I can't eat Jjimdak because they only sell it in a big portion for 2-4 people. So, I told them that I want to eat Jjimdak.
As you can tell in the picture I met two cute korean girls. The first girl with a glasses is Hime. And the other one is Tommy. They have a difficult korean name Hime real name is Kim SeolHui and Tommy is Jeong Eunseom. We go to a famous Jjimdak restaurant in Daegu. So, what is JJimdak? Jjimdak is a food that consist of a chicken and really spicy. We order food for 3 people and it was really big. We eat with rice, and with many difficulties we eat all. After eat, we go to train station because our Japanese friend will comeback to iroshima after 2 weeks exchange in Korea. It was sad that I met them on the day they come back home.
/Daegu trip is culinary trip actually, I eat a famous street snack in the afternoon with Tommy, of you can see the picture bellow it was a dumpling and fishcake. It was delicious. Really, I am not lie. I hope that I can get it in Indonesia. huhu... And then we just hanging around the main street for the day. Tommy have to comeback at 16.00 pm because she will go to Seoul. bye Tommy, thanks for accompany me. :D And for dinner, I eat the KFC Xinger Double down. Basically it is chicken burger. You can see in the picture there is no bread, for burger they change the bread with KFC chicken. I swear it was DAMN DELICIOUS! I love KFC Chicken so much!!! haha...
And the next day, it is 24 February I hanging around by myself. I make a mistake. In Daegu, there is a city tour, and that was the only one tour in daegu. You can check it in Daegu tour. But, you have to make a reservation first. Since I think that I have my Korea friends, I don't have any plan to do a daegu tour. It was such a pity since the tour cost was not really expensive. it's quite cheap and you will saw more Daegu attraction. So by that day, I go by myself only to the place that located in downtown. I am so upset by myself. grr...
But anyway, the journey doesn't take a long time. I start to go to traditional market by subway. Since I am hungry, I eat the famous Kalguksu in the market. How do I know that it was famous? it was easy. When I come to the market, there are a lot of people eating. Most of them eat ddeokpokki or noodles. I already eat ddeokpokki, so I want to try the other one. That's why I eat the nooddle. To choose which store was delicious, just check the place that full with people. I choose place that not crowded because I don't wanna eat in a hurry.
The ahjumma (old lady in Korea) ask me and give information about this dish. I ask about the name and she told me that it was Kalguksu, a famous dish. I sit and order the dish and eat with observation to other people. That's how you survive actually. If you travel alone and don't know about how people behave or eat just observe people around you. See how they use a chopstick, what they put seasoning into the bowl, what additional dish they eat. After that, just copy them. It's so easy.
Finished eating, I see on the map that there is famous cathedral around. So, I walk to the cathedral. It's basically the first cathedral that become an initiator of Catholic in Daegu. When you walk there, the atmosphere is different. it looks like you are not in Korea, it looks like Europe. The architecture just so beautiful. And since it was winter, it give a spooky atmosphere for me. hehe..
And my last destination is a chinese herbal museum. I just think it was interesting and yes it was. You get a lot of new information about the herb medical in Korea or China. But unfortunately most of them are in Korean. There is some information in English, but yeah, for me it's not enough.
The good news is I can try Hanbook, a traditional Korea costume for FREE!!! i think it was a costume that used in Historical drama. It was fun. I was so happy that I use that costume around and ask other people to take a picture of me. Yeah, I am shy, but I think that was the only opportunity that I get. I will regret it if I don't get a good picture back then. kekeke.. I also try herb medicine. Such a drink that taste bad. It written that it good for your health and the price just too expensive. I will not buy it but I try it since it's free. :p For me, a free stuff just the best.
I go home on foot, since it was not so far from the museum to my hostel. In my way back home, I walk around the city, walk into a lot of store and buy cosmetic. Korea cosmetic was very famous and I think I should look around. It turns out that I exit the store with some stuff. Well, girls need cosmetic right? And one is never enough *crossfinger
For the rest of the day I just sleep in hostel. I feel tired because for the last several days i walk too much. When travel, make sure you put a day to rest. Because you will be tired of walking. And it is good not to push your body too much. If you feel tired, just rest. It will getting worse if you get sick. Nobody there to help you right?
